Veteran's Day weekend -- 12-14 Nov 2010
To be perfectly honest, I organized the event back in November so that I could take my 1944 Willys MB out onto the tank trails and ride through some creeks. Since off-roading is not permitted on Fort Hood, I subsequently discovered that the only way to meet that goal was to get full permission from the garrison command of Fort Hood. That meant I had to staff the whole request...and I broke the code.
The pictures below show you some of the fun we had with 7 Jeeps, a Dodge Weapon Carrier, a M3A1 Scout Car, M29C Weasel, 2 British armoured Ferrets and some M1009's. A total of 15 vehicles attended and my new challenge is to double that number in May...maybe even get some tracked vehicles onto the miles and miles of tank trails available to us.
To those who convoyed with us in November, I look forward to seeing you again, and if you decide to join the group in May, I look forward to meeting you. See y'all there.
